What is our 'From the Lab Series'

I've worked as a biomedical scientist across NHS labs in the UK. From 4 years at university, to specialising at senior level in Haematology for over a decade.

Education around lab tests is available out there to patients, but i wanted to create a platform to give IBD patients specifically a better understanding of what their tests mean, and how doctors rely on them for over 70% of diagnosis.

Let me open the door and share unseen access of the lab, from the £100k high-tech analyses, to our incredible track/robotic system, to education on what the tests mean for you.

Then, next time, you send your bloods, poop or biopsies off, you'll have an idea of the people who work tirelessly to help you get the best outcomes.

A year ago, IB3 started as an idea during an ulcerative colitis flare at Download Festival. Today, our bowel leakage pads are finally manufactured and ready to help people living with bowel urgency and mild incontinence regain confidence.

Chris shares his journey with IBD, from early diagnosis to severe flares and bowel incontinence, and how those experiences led him to create IB3 to reduce stigma and support others facing mild to moderate symptoms.

This post shares a behind-the-scenes look at how IB3 packaging is being designed. It explains the thinking behind the designs and invites the community to vote for their favourite as we move towards a final decision.
